UCI MIND Welcomes Sen. Alex Padilla to Explore Advances in Alzheimer’s Research

On September 8, U.S. Senator Alex Padilla visited UCI MIND to hear firsthand about the groundbreaking work happening here. From advances in PET imaging and blood-based testing to new treatments and expanding Latino participation in clinical trials.

Senator Padilla joined a roundtable with UCI MIND Director Dr. Joshua Grill and other campus leaders such as Dr. Aileen Anderson, Dr. Michael Stamos, and Dr. Errol Arkilic to discuss how university research is improving health, driving innovation and advancing the search for new treatments for Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.

As Orange County’s only state- and federally-funded Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center, UCI MIND depends on consistent support to keep our science moving forward for patients, families, and future generations.
